After Sebastopolis, The Landing and Moondust and Black Stars, Little Musics is Sebastopol's 4th full-length album.
Previous releases have come out under the banner of News distribution and WoolE/Belgian Neumusik.
This time it is a 100% homebrew " in-house production ".
More than 30 years of experience in the music business cum burnout still pays off: it even has a barcode on it! (LOL)
All ingredients are home-made: music, recording, mixing, mastering, sleeve design, photography... ..
The Sebastopol headquarters are therefore located in a kitchen in Kessel-Lo, Belgium.

The music still is in the Ambient regions. Ambient though in its classical form,
and not like that when it sounds electronic and is not EDM (electronic dance music), it is called Ambient without batting an eyelid.
Soundtrack is also always a fine designation as a genre, you can't get anything wrong with it because after all, all music is a kind of setting of a certain state or environment ,
ambience, surroundings, ambientand we're back around.

Little Musics is a bit like its predecessor, a record you have to let it come to you and emerse your self , from track 1 to 10.
The songs can absolutely also be enjoyed one at a time, but preferably after a first full listen.
That's what the recipe dictates.A new ingredient is the use of modular synths, Eurorack.
Eurorack has become ubiquitous, not only in the synth community, but also in the dance and techno scene.
I have my reservations about the modular thing, but I won't go into that now to keep the peace.
For me, it meant 2 important things.
A first, the approach to sequencing took on a whole new dimension. Not just the introduction to generative patterns,
but also playing with sequences "on the flow" to arrive at new things and melodies. This in a purely technical way that is at the same time
very organic and feels nice and warm. The second important thing modular brought me was "wavetables "digital sound waves.
Starting from analogue waveforms, like recorded from classic synths, and then processing them intensively and dynamically to get back from a cold digital environment,
back to a warm pleasant sounds and drones, gives me great satisfaction.
These 2 elements are clearly present on Little Musics. There is actually a third, granular synthesis, but we won't talk about that any more and better let the music speak for itself.
Still, to be clear and honest, I am not an expert at all, I know very little about it. I basically just "do" anything, I learn and listen and record.(and have fun)
